So...I have a question for you readers that are also mommies...
Would You Like to Take a Survey?
I've created a list of a few questions below - and I'd love it if you could answer them. These are just some things that I have been thinking about/dealing with/have coming up - and I'd appreciate seeing other mommy experiences.
THE MOMMY SURVEY
1. Did you sleep with your baby in a bassinet/cradle/moses basket? If so, for how long?
2. Did you ever sleep with your baby in bed with you?
3. At what age did your baby start sleeping through the night?
4. Did you ever sleep with your baby in their car seat/bouncy chair because of a stuffed up nose?
5. At what age did your baby start eating more less often? (AKA the old, wake-them-up-if-it's-been-4-hours-during-the-day rule goes out the window).
6. Did your baby lose hair? When did it grow back?
7. What age did you start giving "cereal" to your baby?
8. How was your relationship with your pediatrician? Were they real laid back or more the uptight type?
9. How often were you having to get new clothes for your baby?
10. What's the best piece of advice you ever got as a mommy?
If you want to answer - you can hit "Comments" and somewhere on that screen click on "SHOW ORIGINAL POST" so you can refer to the list of questions as you answer them. If you'd rather not broadcast your answers online - you can e-mail me at MarieBoian@hotmail.com.
THANKS for the feedback. Just some general wonderments I've been wondering on...and while the books and things are great - and I KNOW that he's to an age now where everything is on his own time - it's still nice to hear other mommy stories!
Happy Thursday to all!

1. Gavin was in the bassinet until he could roll over or didn't fit anymore. Griffin wasn't in it very long because he was so big. So he was in there maybe 1 month and then he went to the crib.
2. Kerry won't allow the boys to be in bed with us so No they never were unless they were sick and slept on my chest. I'm glad we did it that way though made it much easier later.
3. Gavin took until he was 11 mos before sleeping through and Griffin still isn't sleeping through and he is 15 mos. old.
4. Yes we did do that on a couple of occations. They were life savers for us. When Gavin was put in the hospital for RSV, the doctors and nurses told us that is how he should sleep when he has a cold. It helps them get it out rather than go in their chest.
5. Gavin being six weeks early ate every 3 to 4 hours for a long time even though the night. Griffin was just hungry all of the time because of his size.
6. Both our boys lost hair but regrow it rather quickly. With Gavin being early, he was hairy everywhere and that all came off too.
7. Gavin's doctor told us to give him cereal in his bottle so that he would gain weight quicker because he had fallen off the growth chart so we did cereal in the bottle at 3 months. Plus Gavin had acid reflex and had to have cereal to weigh down the formula so he won't throw it all up. Griffin didn't like cereal much but his was 6 mos.
8. I had a good relationship with Gavin's pediatrician when he was a baby. She was more uptight but knew that I knew my baby the best so she allowed things that didn't normally take place to take place. I called her or the nurse almost twice a week though for questions or concerns. It is hard when they are little and they are your first one plus born early. Griffin's pediatrician and now Gavin's is awesome. I can call her day or night for questions. I really like her and she is laid back but then again she had a baby only 6 months before I did so she knew so of my feelings I had. I love their doctor now.
9. When they are baby babies, we were buying cloths all of the time to fit them. They grew faster than we could buy sometimes. I usually found good deals on E-Bay or Grandma's were good for it.
10. Enjoy them while they are little and snuggle with them because they grow up way to fast and soon won't want to snuggle. Also another good advice was, you do know your baby better than anyone else so if you think something isn't right or feel you should so something else to help your child then do it. He or she is your child and you live with him or her daily!
I hope this helps
1. Yes. Joey slept in a Moses basket until he was too long for it - about 3 months. Then he slept in the playpen that had a bassinet thing on top of it until he was almost a year. Then he started sleeping with me ;)
2. See response to #2. Did it, still do it, and love it.
3. He started fully sleeping through the night around 6 months, but still wakes up almost nightly for a drink of water or juice.
4. Yes. Joey slept in his car seat and swing when he had a runny nose. It helped it to drain. I also just propped him up on a pillow in bed next to me or on the couch with me.
5. Joey kind of stopped that on his own. I think it was around 3-4 months when I started giving him more cereal at night, which helped him to sleep longer.
6. Joey lost his hair I think when he was around 3 months. It grew back fully around 5 or 6. Remember that? He looked like a little old man. :)
7. I think I started putting cereal in his nightly bottle around 3 months, and then giving it to him just plain or mixed with fruit around 4 months. Ask Mom.
8. My pediatrician was laid back, but refused to prescribe any antibiotics, even when he was really sick. She was very laid back though, and I really liked that about her. It helped me not to panic if she seemed relaxed.
9. I enjoy shopping, so I don't know if I even followed the "need" factor.
10. The best piece of advice I got was from our Mom, who told me just to relax, and go with my gut feeling, and that I was doing a great job. Sometimes you just need someone to tell you you're doing a good job. It's hard to believe otherwise. It's true though. Just relax. Babies are fun :) And you're doing a great job Marie.
