So I'm getting crap for not having enough photos of the little guy up. So, this is an attempt to remedy that. We haven't been taking a ton - just because it seems like we're always doing something with him that requires more attention than a camera.
We DID have a field trip yesterday to Dain's parent's house. It was nice to get out of the house for a while. D got to spend time with his grandma, grandpa, Aunt Marcy, Uncle Evan and even got to see his Great Aunt Connie and Great Uncle Ed. Of course, I forgot my camera for that - but Aunt Marcy took some pictures and so did grandma - so hopefully I'll get some of those.
Here's some photos in no particular order of D's first week at home. He's still doing good...pretty peaceful - just eats, sleeps and poops - LOUDLY (seriously our kid has extremely audible poops). We had a couple more beeps from the monitor - but I spoke with a nurse from special care nursery and she made me feel a lot better about it. I also spoke with a lactation specialist from the hospital and have been feeling better about his feedings too...although I'm still confused over how often I should indulge his seemingly constant request to feed. I guess that will come with time.
Okay - enough jabber - here's the photos...
A burp with grandma Susie:
Our first family shot -although I look like scary mommy:
Watching the Bears with his dad and his Bears blanket from the hospital:
Probably the face he'll make at me for the rest of his life:
And finally - for those of you curious as to how Penny is doing with him:
(She actually is pretty mopey around here - constantly trying for our attention. All she wants to do with D is occasionally sniff him - so it's so far so good. PS we only let her lay like that next to him for about 5 seconds to get photos...don't worry I'm not letting my kid ingest copious amounts of dog hair!)

YAY!!!! Sorry, can you tell I'm stalking your blog as I'm commenting probably t minus 3 minutes after you posted this! Ugh I've been reading about diabetes MNT online for 3 hours now and this is a much welcomed break. I cannot figure out who this child looks like! He is his own little person for sure. Thanks for the pics and feel free to post more :) Sorry, I'm greedy :)
He is pretty cute. It is difficult to make time to snap shots of your pride and joy when he requires such great care. You look really good.
HOORAY FOR ALL THE PICTURES! I'm so happy to hear he's doing well. I still think he looks like Joey, but maybe I'm biased..... I can't wait to see him at Christmas - I wish it would be sooner. I hope Mommy and Daddy are doing well too. Please call and let me know how things are going. I'm glad you feel reassured after talking to the lactation consultant. Don't let that get to you Marie. It's really tough - believe me, I know. I love you all so much!
I'm so glad I got the blog address. He's cute and quite expressive (the hand over the face pix made me laugh).
Hope all are well,
Aunt Jess (and Uncle Tom)
I was more worries about the Cardinals blanket he was laying on than the dog hair.....
He is adorable--LOVE those first few days, hang onto them because I miss them already!
Please let me know if you need any mommy-chat (773-456-4682)---god knows I had so many neurotic moments in that first month, it is always good to call someone and have them talk you down from the ledge.....I know I'm only a few months ahead of you, but it is amazing how much those moments seem totally normal now. And I know you'll never believe it, but I can't even REMEMBER how bad it hurt to nurse at first....I know it was difficult, but it seems like ancient history. Give it until week 5 or 6, it'll be like an old hat by then.....
Hope all is well, talk to you soon!
